Jaguar XJS 1989
Classic Classics are delighted to be able to offer this ever popular Jaguar XJS convertible for sale.
Finished in gleaming black and complimented by electric adjustable cream leather upholstery, this particular XJS is arguably in the best colour combination. Riding on period 16” ‘Lattice’ alloys and boasting lots of chrome bright work this Jaguar XJS is sure to turn heads and get many admiring looks.
Powered by the only engine to have in a true Jaguar sports car, the 5343cc V12 engine runs silky smooth with an abundance of power on tap.
Offered for sale with its original book pack including the service book with no less than 20 service stamps plus a collection of old tax discs.
The comfort of this car really must be tried to be appreciated. The welcome hug of the drivers seat makes you want to just keep driving. With a hint of yester year, the dials are from the pre-digital age with some lovely dash examples of how things used to be. Perfectly functional, and fantastic to see.
The interior is also built with style. With the matching wood and chrome finishes, it transports you to an exuberant time, where more was more and we were proud of that. As The Telegraph reported “For any self-respecting playboy in the late Seventies there were three essential accessories: a waterbed, a Bunny Girl and a Jaguar XJS”. This model is timeless classic, and although it unfortunately wasn’t our particular car, a look alike appeared in The New Avengers where Gambit would swank around in it, along with Simon Templar in The Return of the Saint.
Perhaps we’ve traded in the waterbed now, but the spirit lives on and this example is a perfect route to reconnect with one of our favourite eras.
